University Assistant – Postdoc Career Position (tenure-track) Start/Duration: Starting on 01.02.2019 for 6 years, a qualification agreement (tenure-track) can be offered Organizational Unit: Department of Information Systems, Production and Logistics Management with integration in the planned Digital Science Center at University of Innsbruck.

About us: The Department of Information Systems, Production and Logistics Management is a highly motivated, engaged and innovative group of scholars who actively participate in the research community and have published in all journals of the AIS Senior Scholars’ basket. Our research is coordinated in the research center “Information Systems for Connected Work and Life” as well as the new research center “Digital Science” to be established soon. The Department offers and contributes to five educational programs, Management and Economics (Bachelor), International Business (Diploma), Information Systems – Sustainable Digitization (Master), Digital Business (Professional Master) and Management (PhD). The Department is housed in an attractive, modern building located next to the Imperial Palace in the center of Innsbruck, the capital of the Alps. Level of Employment: 40 hours/week.

Main tasks: - Independent research in the field of Information Systems – Digital Business and Economics as well as contributions to research projects of the Department of Information Systems, Production and Logistics Management - Teaching and mentoring of students enrolled in Bachelor, Diploma and Master programs of the Faculty of Business and Management (in German and English) - Supervision of Bachelor, Diploma and Master theses - Contributions to the administration of the department.

Necessary Qualification: - Completed PhD/doctoral degree in Business, Economics, Information Systems, Management, Social Sciences or equivalent - Excellent knowledge of the discipline of Information Systems, specifically Information Systems Design and Economic Behavior. Research should be conducted in the following areas: the design and development of information systems, (semi)automated (decision) processes, services or business models enabled by the innovative application of technologies such as blockchain, data analytics or artificial intelligence, the analysis of economic or social sustainability of systems and system use, of processes, services or business models on the basis of accepted theories the development of information systems theories and of recommendations for the design of sustainable technology applications - Academic achievements beyond the dissertation/PhD thesis Experience in independent, high-quality and research-led teaching; experience in teaching Information Systems courses desirable; ability to teach in German and English - Experience in the application for third-party funding and the implementation of third-party-funded projects - Experience in academic mobility - International academic network in the discipline - Proficiency in German and English - Applications have to include a concept on research and teaching - Collaboration skills; excellent interdisciplinary communication skills - Ability to facilitate dialogue and cooperation between science and professional practice.
